 lications\n\nThis is presentation that offers tips in tricks\, and generall
 y things you need to know to be effective in writing low latency Java appli
 cations.  You'll also have an opportunity to learn a few things about a mod
 ern JVM's garbage collector and JIT compiler\, but more importantly what as
 pects of those impact your ability to write low latency applications.\n\nBi
 o:\nCharlie Hunt is the JVM Performance Lead Engineer at Oracle and the lea
 d author of the Java Performance book\, (published October 2011). At Oracle
 \, Charlie is responsible for improving the performance of the HotSpot Java
  Virtual Machine and Java SE class libraries. He has also been involved in 
 improving the performance of both GlassFish and WebLogic application server
 s. He wrote his first Java application in 1998 and joined Sun Microsystems\
 , Inc. in 1999 as a Senior Java Architect. He has been working on improving
  the performance of Java and Java applications ever since. He is a regular 
 speaker on the subject of Java performance at many world-wide conferences i
 ncluding the JavaOne Conference.  Charlie holds a Master of Science in Comp
 uter Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Sc
 ience in Computer Science from Iowa State University.\n\nBtw\, if anyone ha
